User Details - Adding a User

Only a user with the role of Super Admin will have the ability to add new users in Arbor Finance.

  1. Go to the System Menu and choose System Setup then User Details.
  2. Click the + Add button on the right hand side of the screen (see screenshot below)

  1. Fill in the user details in the form

  1. Display Name - is the name that will be visible in the top right hand corner of the screen when the user logs in
  2. Role - There are three options available. Super Admin, Admin and User.
    • Super Admin allows that user to create other users and edit their permissions
    • Admin allows that person to edit other users permissions but not create new users
    • User does not allow that user to create or edit other users.
  3. Initials must be unique in the school
  4. The email address must be unique to the school as this will be the users username for logging in.
  5. Click Save to complete the process
  6. Once completed the user will be sent an email with a link to the site and their temporary password
  7. The user will be prompted to verify their email address and change the temporary password when they first login.
  8. You will now need to assign the user the relevant permissions. Assigning permissions is covered in the article Managing user roles and permissions

Note - Although email addresses within a school must be unique. The same email address can be used across multiple schools. This will allow that user to use a single login, but be able to access the school they choose. Useful for finance support teams or staff that work at more than one school.

When creating a user in your school that already has an account with another school, you will see the below warning. Providing this is expected you should click OK. If you are in doubt you should reach out to the user for confirmation that they want to use that email.
