Date entry formats

For fast data entry on Transactions, Reporting and Enquiries screens, Arbor Finance allows you to enter valid dates using only a few keystrokes. The current online version of Arbor Finance generally replicates the accepted date formats of the old desktop version.

To delimit day, month and year values you can type in a space or a forward slash (/) character. You can also enter valid date without these delimiters. These are the accepted date formats, with example entries:

Single digit

  • 1 = 1st day, with the current month and year added

Two digits

  • With delimiters
    • 1/1 or 1 1 = 01 JAN 2024, i.e. day and month, with the current year added
  • Without delimiters
    (both digits are the day)
    • 11 = 11th day, with the current month and year added

Three digits

  • With delimiters
    • 11/1 = 11 JAN 2024, i.e. day and month, with the current year added
    • 1/1/1 OR 1 1 1 = 01 JAN 2001, day and month and year 
    • 1/11 = 01 NOV 2024, i.e. day and month, with the current year added
  • Without delimiters
    (digits 1 & 2 are the day, digit 3 the month - DDM)
    • 111 = 11 JAN 2024, i.e. day and month, with the current year added

Four digits

  • With delimiters
    • 1/1/11 or 1 1 11 = 11 JAN 2011, day and month and year
    • 1/11/1 or 1 11 1 = 01 NOV 2001, day and month and year
    • 11/1/1 or 11 1 1 = 11 JAN 2001, day and month and year
    • 11/11 or 11 11 = 11 NOV 2024, i.e. day and month, with the current year added
  • Without delimiters
    (digits 1 & 2 are the day, digits 3 & 4 the month - DDMM)
    • 1111 = 11 NOV 2024, i.e. day and month, with the current year added

Five digits

  • With delimiters
    • 1/11/11 or 1 11 11 = 01 NOV 2011, day and month and year
    • 11/1/11 or 11 1 11 = 11 JAN 2011, day and month and year
    • 11/11/1 or 11 11 1 = 11 NOV 2001, day and month and year
  • Without delimiters
    (digits 1 & 2 are the day, digits 3 & 4 the month, digit 5 the year - DDMMY)
    • 11111 = 11 NOV 2001, day and month and year

Six digits

  • With delimiters
    • 11/11/11 or 11 11 11 = 11 NOV 2011, day and month and year
  • Without delimiters 
    (digits 1 & 2 are the day, digits 3 & 4 the month, digits 5 & 6 the year - DDMMYY)
    • 111111 = 11 NOV 2011, day and month and year
