LA Considerations - for Partner Guidance and Arbor Finance Framework Set Up

Early in the Discovery Phase, we will ask the Core Project Team to consider the points below. The elements for consideration ensure when migrating your data, the resultant outputs from Arbor Finance, will meet your Local Authorities statutory reporting requirements.

Our Training and Migration Specialist will work with you at the Discovery Meeting, and throughout the Support Team Training, to highlight key functionality and outputs that will require attention and consideration during the next week of your Discovery and Onboarding journey.

Key Considerations

Budget and Analysis Codes - how do these relate to Cost Centre and Ledger Codes

  • Budget Accounts, Budget Headings, Budget Groups
  • Analysis Codes, Sort Keys
  • Linking Budget/Analysis codes
  • CFR Mapping

Review the sample reports and consider/agree the required structure for your schools.

If LA has a standard Chart of Accounts, it is possible to  populate some of the information on the migration workbook template, before getting their schools to populate local transactional information.

Control Bank Accounts:

In Arbor Finance there are no limits on bank accounts. Consider use of:

  • Control account to be used for Payroll Control
  • Credit Card/Procurement Card
  • Petty Cash

VAT

VAT Table of Codes and Rates - is it standard? Does it need review?

VAT reimbursement - how is the managed?

Templates

Is there a standard Purchase Order Template to apply to all schools?

Email templates that accompany outbound documents - any standard text they would want to direct their schools to populate in their templates?

Reporting:

Review the standard reports - do they give you what you need?
What other reports do you need?
